LEEYEE LY1-C40M+1 pluggable surge protective device, 120 V single-phase. A Type 2 / Class II DIN-rail SPD for sub-distribution panels, control panels, and equipment enclosures on 120 V circuits. It uses a 1+1 configuration: a high-energy MOV between line and neutral and a gas discharge tube (GDT) between neutral and protective earth. The protection module plugs into its base, so a spent module can be replaced without disturbing the wiring. A status window shows green when the module is healthy and red when it needs replacement.

Remote contact option (S version)
The LY1-C40MS+1 adds a remote signaling contact that changes state when the module fails. Wire it to a PLC input, BMS point, or indicator light to get an alarm without opening the panel.

Installation
Connect line and neutral to the top terminals and protective earth to the bottom terminal. Install a back-up fuse or breaker of 63 A gL/gG maximum upstream of the SPD. Keep lead lengths short and straight; every extra inch of wire adds let-through voltage. The device is intended for TN-S and TT systems, which covers a 120 V branch or subpanel with separate neutral and ground conductors. Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician.

Before you buy
This SPD is certified to IEC 61643-11 and EN 61643-11. It is not UL 1449 listed. If your project or local inspector requires a UL-listed SPD, for example at a service entrance or in a panel subject to NEC Article 242 inspection, confirm acceptance before ordering. It is well suited to OEM control panels, equipment enclosures, and installations designed to IEC standards.
Check the voltage rating. This model is for 120 V line-to-neutral circuits. For 230 V or 277 V circuits, use the 275 V or 320 V model.
FAQ
What does 1+1 mean?
One protection element between line and neutral (MOV) and one between neutral and earth (GDT). The GDT blocks leakage current to ground under normal operation, so the device does not trip GFCI or RCD protection.
How do I know when it needs replacing?
The indicator window on the module turns from green to red. Pull the old module and plug in a new one of the same voltage rating. The base and wiring stay in place.
Can I use it on a 120/240 V split-phase panel?
No. This unit protects one 120 V line to neutral. A 120/240 V split-phase panel has two lines and needs an SPD rated for that configuration.
Is the remote contact included?
Only on the S version (LY1-C40MS+1). The standard version has the visual indicator only.
