A 3.5" desktop HDD running 7200 RPM with 64MB cache on a SATA 6Gb/s interface. This is a tested pull, removed from working equipment, wiped, and verified on SMART before listing. Suited to bulk storage, media libraries, secondary drives, NAS and DVR builds, and legacy desktop repairs where a 2TB SATA drive is the direct replacement part.

Condition and testing
Used, fully functional. Each drive is checked before it ships:
- Full SMART long test passed with zero reallocated or pending sectors.
- Surface scan completed with no bad blocks reported.
- Data securely erased. The drive arrives unformatted and ready to initialize.
- Warranty seal intact. Cosmetic marks on the casing are normal for a pull and do not affect operation.
Power-on hours vary between units and are not guaranteed. If you need a specific SMART report before purchase, ask and we will send the readout for the drive you receive.
What ships
- 1x Seagate ST2000DM001 2TB hard drive
- shock-protective packaging
SATA data and power cables, mounting screws, and drive rails are not included.
Compatibility
Any system with an open 3.5" bay and a SATA port takes this drive. That covers desktop towers, small business servers, external enclosures and docks, NVR and DVR security recorders, and consumer NAS units from Synology, QNAP, and TerraMaster. It works with Windows, macOS, and Linux. The drive is designed for desktop duty cycles rather than continuous 24/7 enterprise workloads.
Before you buy
This is a mechanical hard drive, not an SSD. Use it for capacity, archives, and secondary storage. Any single drive is a single point of failure, so keep an independent backup of anything you cannot lose. If the drive fails within the warranty window, return it for a replacement or refund.
FAQ
Is the ST2000DM001 an SMR drive?
No. It is a conventional CMR drive with 1TB-per-platter density, so write performance stays consistent as the drive fills.
Will it work in a NAS?
Yes, and it is a common choice for home and small office NAS builds. For continuous enterprise workloads a NAS-rated drive such as an IronWolf is the correct specification.
Does it need a SATA III controller?
No. The drive negotiates down to SATA II and SATA I automatically. Older controllers cap throughput but the drive still works.
Is the data from the previous owner still on it?
No. Every drive is securely erased before listing.
Is a caddy or cable included?
No. The listing covers the bare drive only.
